Amanda Rivers is the Treasurer of Women in Nuclear (WiN) Canada. In her role, Amanda provides financial oversight of the operations of WiN Canada and its chapters.
In her day job, Amanda Rivers is the Director of Business Development at Kinectrics, responsible for the account with Ontario Power Generation. In her role, Amanda is responsible for developing strategic growth plans for each of Kinectrics pillars of engineering services, negotiating contracts and managing relationships with one of Kinectrics’ primary accounts in the nuclear industry. Amanda is also a member of the Diversity & Inclusion team within Kinectrics, and serves as a Director on the Canadian Nuclear Association (CNA) board of directors.
Amanda has over 17 years experience in the nuclear industry at Kinectrics Inc. Her passion for learning and tackling new challenges has driven her to take on various roles throughout the organization starting as a project leader in the Nuclear Engineering Services team, the Service Line Leader and Lead Trainer for Commercial Grade Dedication, Manager of Projects in the Probabilistic Risk Assessment team as well as a role in the finance department as the Business Analyst for Kinectrics’ International Companies. Amanda’s diverse experiences, combined with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering from Queen’s University and an MBA from Schulich School of Business, have provided a strong foundation for business development and strategic planning. Amanda is also a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) which complements her skill set by providing the analytical skills needed to make informed, insightful decisions.
